Who wins in globalization
The first question is who are the players? 1) Governments 2) Corporations 3) Individuals.
100 years ago the Kings and governments certainly had the power and the upper hand. 50 years ago the companies. Will the individuals get crushed as in the past? or will globalization empower the individual? Will the economy and economic dream of Adam Smith come true?
Why globalization will empower people
If you want to work a 8 am to 5 pm job at a company and just hope you do not lose your job, you are in for trouble in the new economy. The winners in globalization are those who will be creative idea generators that can use their brains to create something special. Production will be done in China and services will be done in India. Most people in Europe and America will slowly lose their power unless they can create.
The good thing is this. With globalization and the telecommute or the ability to be an entrepreneur, if someone can create why would they work for a company? Companies will be like a boring factory. Everyone looking over their shoulder to make sure they are not laid off. But most people not really liking their jobs.
The funny thing is, rarely do companies recognizes creative people. They often reward losers. People with loser intelligence and potential.
Even if companies lose millions their chiefs get paid. Ha ha the joke is on people involved in this cycle of ‘suck up’ to the boss and hope you do not get fired. (For example, White Mountains Insurance, a classic example of all talk about value and innovation but nothing but old boys network, this company has been going down hill and the bosses get huge multi-million bonuses). This is why companies will always be there, but the real winners in globalization will be individuals who can create and innovate people with brains and courage. Who will lose in globalization? Well companies and governments will always be there but they will become a ridiculous places for ridiculous people who can not do things on their own. If they could they would.
