In a capitalist economy you can:

  • Be a corporate serf
  • Be a capitalist

Making money as a corporate serf

See even if you fight your way to the top and give up nights and weekends, in a company the best you will be is a butler.  That is, while the other serfs are working the fields you will have a nice cushy life. You get a little bit of travel on your master’s behalf and you get nice living quarters and get to attend important functions as a representative of the king.  But remember you are not the king and do not own the company. Even the pittance of stock options they may hang over your head is not real money or using your creative talents. Money generation outside of feudal kingdom

Two ways to make money outside the feudal system and be a freeman.

  • Selling tangible good
  • Selling intangible goods

Making money selling tangibles

Radios, food, computers anything you want to sell, usually you act as the middle man.  This makes a modest income.  You can even do better than in the feudal world.  But alas you are a shopkeeper, even you have an e-shop. This is better than working for a living in an office or in a shop or doing some service. You are selling and therefore making money as a capitalist. However there is even a better way to earn a living.

Why you will generate the most money with intangibles

Writing books, music, ideas, inventions, software anything that is your creation, you will make the most. Google, Bill Gates, Madonna, authors,  rap stars, movies, your could sell air in a bottle in a creative way, as long as people value it. You do not need start up capital and your margins are the highest. Your capital is your intellect.  Intellectual capital.  You make the most money because it is an expression of your divine given talents.  You need to create something of real value, years of work and once you sell it you will make money. You can not get rich quick with selling intellectual capital because people do not like poor quality intangibles.  Take your hobby and make it marketable.  This is how you escape from your feudal master.  This is how you make money.

Selling intangibles that you have created is the way to make real income for your family. Being a corporate serf or working for corporate America is the last way I would choose to earn a living.  You are better than that. Read Adam Smith and be inspired with how he saw the way the world of work  and money operated.
